Richard Osman weaves a story of colorful, endearing and quirky characters that you fall in love with. This is the third in a series that should be read in the order they are published to fully appreciate the plot. This is my first time reading Adrienne Chinn. The author does a great job of intermingling the three main characters with out it being confusing. I really enjoyed this historical fiction novel and the authors writing. I have been a fan of all of Ruth Ware's previous novels but this one was a disappointment. I found the book way too long, repetitive, and wasn't a fan of the main characters either. After dragging out the plot to the point of boredom, the ending was far fetched and didn't justify the waste of time. I knew this was 3 short stories when I got this book. I am a huge fan of John Grisham so it was surprised at how disappointed I was. While the first story was very similar to his previous novels and an enjoyable read, the second two stories were a complete waste of his time and mine.I knew this was 3 short stories when I got this book. From the reviews I am one of the few that could not get into this book. So depressing that I couldn't get past page 24 and returned it. Disappointed.

This historical fiction was based on the voyage of the St Louis from Germany in 1939. With over 900 Jewish refugees on board originally granted asylum in Cuba, only a handful are allowed to enter the country. The United States and Canada also refuse to take in these victims of the Nazi regime and the St Louis is forced to return to Europe. I am also a huge fan of Jennifer Weiner and have enjoyed every one of her novels until this one. Mrs. Everything started off well but became tough to connect with the characters by page 150. My complaint was the same as others in that the story tries to hit every social issue affecting women from the 50"s. I quit reading at page 230I am also a huge fan of Jennifer Weiner and have enjoyed every one of her novels until this one. I agree with the previous reviewer. I did not like the nanny (Rowan), the parents or the housekeeper. The storyline was absurd as well. I stopped reading this book before I was half way through.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first adventure of the hundred year old man. It was quirky, funny and couldn't put it down. Unfortunately this book is a disappointing followup. I stopped reading it after less than twenty pages. There is little humour (not sure if it is the translation this time around) and more of a commentary on the current state of the political affairs of the world today. Unfortunately I am one of the few that disliked this book so much I stopped reading it after 25 pages in. Will Robie is the smartest, fastest, strongest, handsomest...............the writing style of David Baldacci has deteriorated from his once riveting storylines to where you can already see where the storyline is going well before you get there. The Woman in Cabin 10 was a huge disappointment after reading Ruth Waring's previous novel In the Dark Dark Wood. The main character was hard to sympathize or relate to with her constantly being drunk. abrasive and traumatized. There were many times in the first half I was going to stop reading but continued on with all the good reviews and her previous book. The second half of the book Lo miraculously becomes sober, somber and articulate but can't save the book or the storyline. The Woman in Cabin 10 was a huge disappointment after reading Ruth Waring's previous novel In the Dark Dark Wood. I could not put this book down. It was an easy read with a lot of twists. I would have given it a 5 star except the ending was predictable and felt the author could have done better.

I really enjoyed this novel about a respected and highly regarded teacher in a small town that is accused of attempted sexual assault by several of his students. The nightmare that his wife, son and daughter must now endure through the ostracization of those that were once colleagues and friends is thought provoking. The ending may not be to the liking of some but I respect the author not giving us a predictable closure.I really enjoyed this novel about a respected and highly regarded teacher in a small town that is accused of attempted sexual assault by several of his students.
