This book is a 5 star special, it gives real life lessons, great minecraft content, and a amazing story, I would highly recommend this book to a minecraft player.
Instead of reading this book, I would recommend The Island. This book had a lot of potential but fell short. Doesn't explain the crafting and inventory very well and just leaves that up into the air. Plus, many Minecraft physics are ignored. Better for any Minecraft fan under 12.
I don't let my kids read Minecraft fiction mainly because they are poorly written, with lots of grammatical errors, violent and weak stories.
Mark Cheverton's Minecraft series of books is none of the above. Maybe violence in the game, but hey no more than playing the game itself. I appreciate the vast vocabulary used, grammatically correct and well edited content. My sons thought the story was gripping. They were 7 and 10 when I read the this book to them. They have now consumed all of this authors books.
This first book of the series starts out with the same heartbreak many of our kids face when playing Minecraft - being griefed - where someone deliberately destroys your creations that you worked hours on. It leads the main character down the path to anger, etc. But the real magic is what happens after that - lots of real life lessons to learn here. I recommend you read aloud to kids as young as 7 to 9, and discuss the themes and plots.
This book on it's own was fairly slow, but still interesting enough to not be boring. As things continue through the rest of the series, however, the characters get much more developed and the books get harder and harder to put down. The plots are intriguing and creative, and I greatly enjoyed the fact that mobs were used as actual important characters, rather than simply being used as cannon fodder for the good guys. Overall, I think this series is good for pretty much anyone who enjoys quick reads and enjoyable characters.
I especially liked Erebus. I mean, who doesn't? :)
This is one of the BEST Minecraft Book series I have read.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to people who LOVE Minecraft
oh and ps no one follow the fake gameknight down there cuz i checked his twitter prof and its not the real gameknights profile. Get a life fake. And if you really want to prove to me that your the real gameknight then give me some EVIDENCE
This book is one of my favorite series. although the reason why i think not many people put holds on it is because the illustrations are kind of cheasy and dumb but the story is amazing. So anyone considering checking this out let me tell you something. You should. Ps since this book is in a series you can search mark chevertons in the search engine to look at the rest of the series.
Don't you dare to lie gameknight999 I know that your not gameknight999
