Entertaining little summer read. Beach, drama, love, etc. All the fixings. It just felt a little rushed at the end.
I have a new least favourite Elin Hilderbrand book, and this is it, unfortunately. It was trying so hard to be relevant and contemporary that it failed miserably. There were so many parts where I literally rolled my eyes or cringed with second hand embarrassment at how lame and dorky some of the dialogue was. The writing was choppy and the story dull. The only reason I finished it was because by the time the actual story really started I was halfway through the book, so I figured I might as well finish it in case it had a great ending. Spoiler alert: it doesn't.
I was disappointed in this book. I expected so much more from one of my favorite authors.
Extremely Unlikeable people making bad decisions; not at all what I expected. Very disappointed.
Identical twins are as different as night and day in their upbringing, their attitude, and lifestyle. The conflict between them has resulted in ten years separation despite living only 11 miles apart. What happens when their father dies brings about a clash between the two with mother and rebellious 16 year old granddaughter caught in the middle. Great summer read with the inevitable happy ending.
This is an "ok" book. I just don't think this author's books are as good as they used to be.
As a twin herself, Elin Hildebrand, has a great perspective on writing a story which involves the unique relationship between twins. Harper, and Tabitha however, are portrayed in a combative role.
Harper lives most of her life in Martha's Vineyard with her father after the divorce of their parents, while Tabitha lives in Nantucket with her mother.
The plot revolves around the disparity in personality traits between the twins and their relationships.
There are lots of twists and turns in the story. Will it be a happy ending for all? Reading the book is a great way to find the answer.
A cute summer read. About a set of twins who were split up when parents divorced. Death of their father puts a strain on everyone but has an interesting ending.
Twins trading places - remember the Parent Trap movies? A fun summer read.
