When We Found Home is a sibling story with a twist. Most sibling stories I've read include three sisters who've grown up together, grown apart, are brought back together by a mother or grandmother and find each other again.
When We Found Home is about a brother and two sisters all of whom are strangers to each other, each with a sad compelling back story. As opposed to sisters close in age, the brother is in his mid-thirties, one sister in her 20's and the other sister a pre-teen. It's a refreshing and interesting twist, in that they have to learn to know and love each other while putting aside their preconceived notions based on the little they know about each others and the wall they've erected to protect themselves. Add a few love burgeoning love interests, a bit of steamy sex, all placed in my hometown and you have a pretty darn good story.
I loved this book, and would say it was one of my favorite recently-read romance novels. The characters and their stories kept me turning pages, and I sincerely hope the author writes more about this family -- that would be an automatic read!
This was a great book, hard to put down as are many of this author's books but this was a little different, maybe more depth to the main characters as they adjusted to the new family dynamics.
The plot was a refreshing change, and I loved the family drama and close bonds being formed by three siblings. However, the internal angst felt by Delaney , regarding her career choices and her history with Tim, dragged on way too long.
Another great book from Susan Mallery! A story about siblings that never knew each other and the beautiful way they get to know each other. They grow with love and dignity and a few situations that part of life. Loved it!
