In all honesty the ending was a bit of a cliff hanger and it seems like it should've have another book after it, maybe if there was another one it would be about her life is adjusting and her on a quest to find 'Joshua' or maybe it could…

I picked this book up by chance and read it in one day. The community that Kyra grows up in seems perfect to her at first, but through her eyes you can see her reality falling apart. the ending felt really rushed and I almost wish for a…

All in all, a good read, not in depth as far as the cult/revelations about the outside world as it could have been, but I do get the appeal.

This book was very touching and really sad. I thought it was a really good book and I recommend it to anyone who LOVES to read. But I also thought the ending was a cliff hanger.

This book was an extremely moving story about love, family, religion, and freedom. It caused me to question my beliefs and wonder what choices I would have made in Kyra's situation. A definate must read.

This book is amazing. Touching, horrifying and very sad all at once, it left me thinking about it several days after I finished reading.

I liked this book more than I thought I would. All she did was like a boy and she was punished for it. Your put in her shoes and feel her pain. Really sad and suspenseful. I cried!

An amazing, haunting novel. It was very upsetting because this is really what happens to some girls, but it was very well written and it stayed in my mind long after I finished it

This book was pretty good. I like it, I'm the same age as Kyra so I could really relate to it. It's kind of slow, and a bit scary. There's also some romance between Kyra and a boy named Josh....I wish there was more though :/ I guess I'd…

This book is thoughtfully written and full of hope and courage. It is about a thirteen year old girl named Kyra who is being forced to marry her uncle. Although she has always loved her family, and her community, and has hardly ever…

The best part about this book was how well Williams used her narrator. What I mean is, it doesn't sound like the book is The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams. No, it's more like The Chosen One: A Memoir by Kyra Leigh Carlson. Because the…

loved this book, very interesting views of christianity, but also with the common trials of a teenage girl. With other challenges that most of us would never have to face.
