A love song to Mulder and Scully, a tale to set this pair at rest.

After watching Season 10, and now the current Season 11, now I can see this movie was the precursor.
Instead of focusing on what we usually expect with ufo's/aliens, this movie instead went for a grisly/grim crime-drama with a small touch of the paranormal.

The X Files: I Want to Believe is a movie set six years after the series finale of The X Files. Dana and Fox reunite after Fox’s professional exile due to his insistence that what we view as things that go bump in the night is real. They are called back together because of a missing person’s case that only a team like Dana and Fox could make sense of. The case along with a priest that may or may not be having psychic visions leads to a typical X-Files plot. I really liked this movie, but it may be because I really like the X-Files, it was classic Dana and Fox banter but with a sort of over complicated convoluted plot that I wasn’t a fan of a lot of the time I felt the movie didn’t know what it was getting at. The movies called “I Want to Believe” but I did not know what I was supposed to believe in. in the end you have to really love and be attached to the characters to love this movie as it is not strong on story. It definitely has potential when viewed as a fan but that potential is lost when it’s shown to a casual viewer. I would recommend this to someone that loves the X-files but you have to really love it to sit through the whole thing. Despite its faults I would probably still watch it again, but again, that coming from a huge fan.

This is is awful ! ...when I got this NYPL disc home and put this movie in the DVD player...and the screen says: "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" !!?? ( Even though it states "Region #1", on the DVD jacket !!?) I have watched a thousand other New York Public Library DVDs on my Panasonic Region 1 DVD Player,.. but this one makes it 32 TIMES that a film has have come up as "NOT FORMATTED..." etc. !

I waited a long time to get this highly recommended film. ...VERY DISAPPOINTING !! I really wanted to see this movie. And I know that ALL the NYPL copies of it will have this same problem !!

WHY is the New York Public Library buying DVD's that are "NOT FORMATTED.." to be viewed in this region ?

Has this ever happened to anyone else out there ??

This DVD movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance. Very predictable but still entertaining.

Decent, but nothing really stands out.

I like Moulder and Scully. I got used to them w/ the series but in this one they dropped off a little bit. The charisma seemed to be off or faded perhaps. Anyway, all in all a good show. Bad guys, always bad guys. It's like they don't rest or something however this one takes a little detour from the other movie and typical directon of the last few seasons of the series.

Raised more questions then answered them. Disappointing ...
