This series featuring Lady Emily Hargreave as the sleuth is my mystery "brain candy". Not great literature, but a very enjoyable series with good mysteries and character development. Recommend. Start with the first in the series. Bookwoman & AbbyTabby

I think this series is strongest when it's set in England, and this installment certainly supports that point of view, as this is possibly my favorite book in the series to date. I thought the mystery was interesting, and I really liked the upstairs-downstairs feel to the whole thing, thanks to a storyline involving one of the housemaids. (I did find it totally amusing how, in true 19th century British aristocrat fashion, Emily's motherhood seems to have little effect on her life.)

Finally an entry in the series that measured up to the first two books (Lady Emily should stay in England). Confusing yet believable, this one had me guessing until the end.

Another good book in the Lady Emily series. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Well written with twists and turns. Thumbs up.

I found the characters in this book easier to follow than the rest. I like the underlying story of the servants that flows alongside the main plot and connects at the end.

Lady Emily mysteries are always enjoyable and this one is no exception. Well done except for the occasional lapse into phrases more likely to be heard in the 21st century than the 19th.
