I really enjoy this type of Fiction. It is a fantasy set in a different world as we know from the first book. A pre-modern era but with magic and spells. This series also reminds me of the Unwanteds, another terrific series with magic and trying to take down an evil tyrant.

This book is about a boy who gets stuck in another world. He goes on an epic adventure to save his friends. Running from the law as a rebel, he gains many friends on a mission. If you want to know what happens, read the book. - William

I LOVE Brandon Mull's writing, especially his world-building and in Sky Raiders in my opinion it is at his finest so far. It was just so fun to read about and I didn't want it to end! The ideas of sky castles and shaping and all the little boy (what was his name again?) made in his world Cole had to travel through Mull has are amazing.

Brandon Mull is an amazing author (though Beyonders disappointed me at the end), and I was really excited to hear of the Five Kingdoms series. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure or simply likes a good book!

another great book from Brandon mull, I liked this book so much I have nothing bad to say about it. If you liked it you should also try out fablehaven or Beyonders which are also pretty awesome.

At a party held in the haunted house on Wilson Street, sixth-grader Cole Randolph’s friends are suddenly whisked away through a mysterious passage leading down from the basement. Cole follows and finds himself in an entirely different dimension, known as the “Outskirts”.

Composed of five kingdoms, The Outskirts is an amazing but perilous world. Led by the tyrannical, power-hungry High Shaper, slave traders are kidnapping kids from earth and taking them to The Outskirts to be sold into slavery. Cole discovers that this is what has happened to his friends.

Then Cole is captured. Sold to the Sky Raiders, who live on the edge of the world and plunder cloud castles in the Outskirts for treasure, he is marked to be their scout - an extremely dangerous job. When he meets Mira, a slave girl with a mysterious past, they make plans to rescue his friends, knowing that it will be a daunting task.

At the conclusion of Sky Raiders, readers will definitely want to continue with the second book in the Five Kingdoms series to see what happens to Cole and his friends.

This book is a fun. It is a scary book.

It starts out with Cole and his friends. They go to a free Haunted House in their neighborhood, get abducted and taken as slaves.

Probably a good read for 6th grader and higher. The reading level is accessible. However, the foreshadowing in the book is too obvious past the 3rd chapter.

This intriguing book by the amazing Brandon Mull follows a sixth-grade boy through a portal into another world called The Outskirts. What new adventures await him in this strange, dream-like place? Can he find his friends before something terrible happens to them? Will he ever find a way to go home and stay there? So many questions, and so many pages filled with action and juicy description! ;)

Cole Randolph was just trying to have a fun time with his friends on Halloween (and maybe get to know Jenna Hunt a little better). But when a spooky haunted house turns out to be a portal to something much creepier, Cole finds himself on an adventure on a whole different level.

After Cole sees his friends whisked away to some mysterious place underneath the haunted house, he dives in after them—and ends up in The Outskirts.

The Outskirts are made up of five kingdoms that lie between wakefulness and dreaming, reality and imagination, life and death. It’s an in-between place. Some people are born there. Some find their way there from our world, or from other worlds.

And once you come to the Outskirts, it’s very hard to leave.

With the magic of the Outskirts starting to unravel, it’s up to Cole and an unusual girl named Mira to rescue his friends, set things right in the Outskirts, and hopefully find his way back home…before his existence is forgotten.
