After I was able to dot the commas (names) I could hardly put this book down although it's almost 700 pages!

Not having read the first two of this series, took sometime to get to know the personalities. Fantastic book. Hated for it to end. Would definitely give it 5 stars

I waited so long to read this so at the beginning I started it with a chip on my shoulder. I found out from the author that the publisher chose to hold back the book for 2 years. But I also didn't remember all the details of the previous books - but while it seemed slow at the beginning, it suddenly gathered speed and took off. I would say the best of the triology. My favorite. But now, we'll have to wait for the next one - hopefully not 2 years - and I hear that Penn, Serenity and Lincoln are in it!

A doubt slipped in while I was waiting for my turn. What if the author simply fell apart and the story flopped. No disappointment when I finally read the book. EXCELLENT!! The trilogy was well worth reading.

Iles is a master story teller. This is a great book and a part of a great trilogy. He has the ability to describe the south in such a way that you feel you are there.

I am a Greg Iles fan. The NATCHEZ BURNING trilogy, of which MISSISSIPPI BLOOD is the last book has been a great read and this book is every bit as engaging, entertaining and thought provoking as the first two. It is a bit different though in that this is more a balanced legal thriller and mystery thriller than the other two. At the same time, for those of us who grew up in the 50s and 60s, the backdrop story of race relations compelled me to think back on those times and my own experiences - some of which were uplifting and some of which were disturbing. But I love the fact that Iles can entertain us with a great thriller, even while provoking us to think about profound issues. He is much like Leon Uris in that regard. So I loved this book and the other two. But to be frank, I did recommend Natchez Burning to a friend who was looking for a good novel. After several days, she told me she had to put the book down because it 'hurt her soul.' I get that too. It is a hard story told in stark language and full of moments of explicit violence. So in fairness, I would want potential readers to be aware of that.

Great trilogy. Excellent book.

Mississippi Blood the last book in Natchez Burning trilogy was worth the wait. I had a hard time putting this book down. The story gave us enough back information from Natchez Burning and The Bone Tree to help us remember back events that took place these novels although I would recommend reading the first two before reading this book. All three are page turning excitement.
