You will step back in time to a beautiful location where a community is dying with the B.S.E. cattle crisis speeding up its demise. The book is the author's attempt to capture the history and culture of a people that will soon be lost. The area is one of the last pristine places in Canada where remnants of early man still remain undiscovered in the terrain. It's a place where dinosaur bones lie buried in the bank of a river that runs through a rancher's land and native grass that is thousands of years old still grows around one of the lakes. The book describes the personal stories of how people survived the harsh living conditions and how their past has influenced their culture today. It describes - with numerous pictures - what it's presently like to live in this isolated community through the actual experiences of the author as she tries to adjust to the cultural shock.
