I LOVED the spiritual aspects of this story, and there is also mystery and suspense! Although M. R. Phillips does express a couple of unorthodox (Christian) views, they are easy to ignore in light of the general tenor of the story. A very delightful experience, & I'm looking forward to the next 2 books in the series.

If it wasn't for the "overuse" of religious beliefs at times, I would give this series 5 stars. Because other than that one issue, everything was highly enjoyable & there was plenty of mystery, suspence & history - I love history & Michael Phillips works a lot of it into this series.
