Characters: 7/10 Plot: 9/10 Writing: 9/10 This book, like the first, flew by. It was a sequel that lived up to its predecessor, which is always satisfying. I liked that it changed up the setting and brought it somewhere else, showing that these characters and this world exist outside of the isolated school. I didn't get much from the new characters that were introduced--the council members and Nick and Daisy. They added something to the book, but I didn't build any feelings towards any of them. They weren't developed enough for me to either like or dislike them. I liked her Dad well enough...but I'm not sure I got the full summary of her conflict over how to feel about him. Talk about a cliffhanger at the end! I'm very excited to start the next book.
