The third season of Treme takes place years after Hurricane Katrina devastated NOLA. The main characters all have ups and downs throughout the season. There is a major emphasis on the music because several of the characters are part of the jazz scene. Other highlights include the opening of a new restaurant by Chef Janette Desautel as well as progress and intimidation related to the investigations into several murders committed by the police during Hurricane Katrina. Overall the third season is somewhat depressing but the acting and entertainment is excellent.
