Wow. What a badly written book! I can't help but think the original manuscript was done in all caps with each sentence ended in from one to seven exclamation points -- the editors apparently left the rest as is, though. All the sophistication and moderating of pace of a He-Man cartoon. So many plot holes that the plot was hard to even see. Dialog that sounded like a 12 year old's imagination. No awareness of implausibility (my favorite -- the bad guy checks out 4 scenes where he'd dumped bodies, for the first time -- after 30 years. The good guy happens to check those same spots for the first time, in the same order(!), on the same night, and in about the same 20 minute period.... I had to calculate and come up with roughly 1.9 Million to one odds against that amazing coincidence). Any characters that have any personality all have essentially the same personality.... each move they make is something they have "no choice" about. They even all talk the same way with similar odd expressions. How this guy is a best seller with over 30 books completely escapes me. Unless he had someone write a computer program to churn out this trash. I had to finish the book just for the wonderment of how badly written it really was - a classic in that way.
