Chilling film, reminiscent of legendary spaghetti Western master director Sergio Leone, (A Fistful Of Dollars; For A Few Dollars More; The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly), yet grislier. Money isn't the motive for the gruesome killings here, the mayhem is without purpose, waged by a pack of bloodthirsty lunatics, with the freedom to rape and murder facilitated by the vastness of the untamed, arid wasteland. A powerful screenplay AND eerie musical score by Nick Cave, solid directing by John Hillcoat (The Road). The entire cast delivered, especially the gritty Ray Winstone and the deadpan Guy Pearce. Director John Huston's son Danny as the eloquent and demented villain Arthur Burns. John Hurt's cynical world traveling bounty hunter cameo was an added bonus. Great flick. FIVE STARS.
